lan prints - A visual walk through the neighborhood
WHY LANPRINTS?
The idea of lanprints began in 2009 out of my personal need to stretch my creative reach. While on an artistic sabbatical with some close friends and fellow photographers, The Smiths (yes, that is their real name), I was made to get up at dawn to experience a literal and spiritual awakening.
The sights and sounds of Colonial Beach, Viriginia, comprised my first “neighborhood” exploration into what I call interpretive photography. I began to see endless ways of reinventing fabulous everyday images that can be forgotten or taken for granted. I wanted to preserve my time spent there. I really started to love all the peices of the puzzle that comprise that neighborhood. Maybe it is the scenery, the architecture, the feeling you get from just being there. I did not want to disturb it, just get it. The vision of what I see is what I love about them.
As a portrait artist, for the past 15 years it has been my pleasure to capture images for my clients that will last for generations. I am pleased to add a second dimension to my work and welcome you to my “neighborhoods.”
